READING, Pa. - It was a busy afternoon for the Lions (0-4) as they faced off against another tough opponent, this time in the Nittany Lions of Penn State Harrisburg (4-5). Albright winner of two singles matches also dropped two extremely close tie-breakers to eventually fall to the Nittany Lions by the score of 7-2 on the Albright Tennis Courts.
Picking up the first two wins of the season for the Lions was #
Kenneth Ip# and #
Mike Callahan#. Ip was dominant at the first singles spot defeating his opponent Victor Yu by the score of 6-0, 6-0.
At fourth singles Callahan had to work for every point, but eventually defeated Sahil Patel by the final scores of 6-1, 3-6, and 5-2. The two other close matches that took place Wednesday afternoon were at third and sixth singles. #
Jason Lefkoe# dropped an extremely tough tie-breaker at the fourth slot 5-7, 6-3, 11-9, while #
Adam Stamm# went back-and-forth but was eventually handed a 2-6, 6-3, 10-7 loss.
Truly setting the tone for the afternoon were the first and third doubles matches. Both matches came down to the wire, but it was the Nittany Lions that clinched both wins with 8-6 victories.
Men's Tennis returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Penn State Abington for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference match.
