READING, Pa. – In the 2010 season opener for the Albright College Field Hockey team (0-1), the Aggies from Delaware Valley (1-0) shut out the Lions by a score of 3-0 Wednesday evening in Shirk Stadium.

It was a tightly contested game for the first 31 minutes before Marissa Di Miero found the back of the cage for the Aggies off a pass from Holly Rich.

Neither team would find the net closing out the first half, leaving the score at 1-0 at the end of the first 35 minutes.

Albright would have several more opportunities in the second half, totaling eight shots for the period, including five alone from #Caitlin Feldman#, but the red and white would have no success in finding the cage.

Holly Rich and Nikki Rogers each added goals late in the second half to tack on to the Delaware Valley lead and put the game away for the Aggies.

Hollis Hancock earned her first win of the 2010 campaign, while #Marguerite DeLucas# was handed the loss in her Albright debut.

Field Hockey returns to action this Saturday when the Lions travel to York College for a 1 pm start time.
