Meet Results
READING, Pa. – In their regular season finale in the Natatorium, both swim teams made quick work of their first-time opponents, the Vikings of Ocean County College. On the men's side the Lions recorded a 110-85 victory, with the women's team following suit as they recorded a 90-61 win Saturday afternoon.
Saturday's meet was another crucial meet for the red and white as they look to build even more momentum for this year's Middle Atlantic Conference championship meet. For the women's squad, they swam away with wins in every relay and individual heat. The men's team recorded first place finishes in every event, except one.
Earning first place finishes for the Lady Lions was the 200 medley relay team of
Kari Keller,
Katy Oeste,
Aimee Snyder, and
Lauren Onusko with their combined time of 2:03.80.
Kelly Williams recorded a final time of 11:56.58 to take the 1,000 free. Fellow senior
Allie Fies recorded the top times in both the 100 and 200 free with her times of 1:07.99 and 2:03.30 respectively.
Oeste notched another first place finish in the 50 free with a time of 26.57. Sophomore Madi Hauk was also a dual winner earning a first place finish in the 200 IM (2:21.65) and 200 breast (2:39.02). Recording new personal bests in the 200 IM was freshman
Erika McEnany (2:36.00) and sophomore
Rachel Zaccarelli (3:02.75).
On the men's team senior
Eric Kramer posted two first place finishes in the 1,000 free and 100 free.
Joe Deighan earned the top time in the 200 free (1:52.77) while
Tim Pierce lead the Lions in the 100 fly (57.90). Freshman
Stephen Thomas cruised to a first place finish in the 200 IM, the second of his career in the event. Thomas finished with a final time of 2:11.93).
Mike McBride and
Chris Sheerer were also first place finishers on Saturday, with McBride earning the top time in the 500 free (5:14.39) and Sheerer in the 200 back (2:05.47).
Swimming returns to action next Saturday when they travel to Susquehanna University for the final regular season meet of the 2010-11 season. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
