Women's Golf Wins Alvernia Spring Invite

READING, Pa. – The Albright women's golf team continued to showcase their development as a program, Thursday afternoon as they won the 2011 Alvernia University Spring Invitational with a combined score of 90 (+19) at the Reading Country Club.

Kaitlin Mack not only led the two Lady Lion golfers, but defeated all other competitors to earn the tournament's individual championship with her first round score of 90. Finishing in third place was Domonique Wilcher with her final score of 104 (+33).

Alvernia's Paige Branch took second on the afternoon with her score of 96 (+25). The host Crusaders finished in second place with their final team score of 217 (+75). Finishing in third place was Stevenson University with a score of 252 (+110), followed by FDU-Florham in fourth place with their score of 283 (+141).

Women's golf returns to action on Monday when they take part in the Misericordia University Invitational. Start time is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
