The Albright College men's tennis team earned its first win of the season on Wednesday, winning a pair of singles tie-breakers in a tight 5-4 victory over PSU-Berks.
At third singles, sophomore
Cain Walter won a tiebreaker in the first set of a 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 sweep. Walter also teamed with classmate
Thomas Werner to win 8-6 at second doubles.
One of the biggest points came from freshman
Terrence Goode. After getting swept 6-0 in the opening game, he rallied for a big, 0-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-4 triumph at fourth singles.
Werner had a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at sixth singles, while
Joe Monzo prevailed 6-3, 6-3 in the fifth spot.
Berks' top two of
Drew Weinhold and
Brian Campo won their singles matches and teamed for a victory in the first doubles spot.
The Lions are 1-2 on the season and will compete this weekend in the MAC Individual Championships.
