The Albright College men's swimming team defeated Cabrini on Thursday evening, 113-57 in the Natatorium.
Cabrini has already beaten three MAC schools this season but couldn't knock off a Lion squad that won the first eight events before switching to exhibitions.
The Lions were pushed in the opening relay, but
Rick Sutton,
Richard Edwards,
Matt Runtas and
Mike McBride won the 200 medley by under a second.
Albright then took the top four times in the 1000 free however, led by
Kyle Everson (10:45.56).
Sean Yuschovitz and
Chris Longworth followed, with
Dan Cahill also finishing ahead of the top Cabrini swimmer.
Sutton took first place in the 200 free, with a time of 1:53.80. Transfer
Alex Bauer then out-touched teammate
Ralph Porrazzo, 22.26 to 22.34, in the 50 free.
Albright swept the 200 IM, led by sophomore Adam Vogel (2:04.29).
Matt Bauer was second and
Stephen Thomas took third.
Mitch Cain then won the 100 fly with a time of 55.85.
McBride took the 100 free, in 49.33, and A. Bauer won the 100 back (1:01.78) before Albright finished the meet with exhibition swims.
The visiting Cavaliers were coached by Albright alum
Cindy Ikeler, who won two MAC championships as an assistant coach with the Lion men (plus six women's titles as a swimmer and coach).
The Lions improve to 5-1 overall and will host Messiah on Saturday at 2 p.m., a meet that was originally scheduled to take place in York, Pa.
