Results
The Albright College men's swimming team won nine out of 14 events in their defeat of Widener University, 118-66.
Sophomore
Rick Sutton claimed first place in the mile (17:48.94) and the 500 freestyle (5:06.54), while Matthew Runtas,
Mike McBride, Adam Vogel,
Alex Bauer, and
Josh Park all posted top times for first place finishes.
Again showcasing their superior depth, the Lions went 1-2 in the 500 free, 100 free, 400 IM, 50 free, and mile, and then had several fourth place finishes to pick up points as well.
McBride went 48.22 in his 100- freestyle win, just .3 seconds off his personal best time posted last season at MAC championships.
Fellow sprinter Runtas is proving to be a critical member of the team going 55.68 in the 100 butterfly and coming in second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.92.
The men secured their victory with McBride, Bauer, Runtas and
Adam Kurtz claimed first place in the 400 freestyle relay, while teammates Sutton, Matthew Bauer,
Mitch Cain, and
Bobby McNair clinched the second place time just two lanes over.
The Lions are back in action on Wednesday traveling to Ursinus College and are back home on Saturday, November 10, hosting Arcadia University.
