The Albright College men's lacrosse team used a strong second half to break a 4-4 deadlock and improve to 4-0 in their inaugural season, beating Immaculata 13-8 on the road.
Tied 4-4 at halftime, the Lions notched the next three goals and out-scored their opponents 9-4 for the half to seize the victory.
Justin Brown finished with a game-high four goals, while
T.J. Holston,
Dan Foote and
Bryan Smith gave the visitors four hat tricks on the day.
Darian Meador continued his outstanding faceoff play, winning 16 of 23 draws and adding five ground balls.
Holston and Smith scored just 14 seconds apart early on, to erase an early
Ryan Cipriano goal for Immaculata. Holston's second-quarter goal was canceled out by the Mighty Macs with 4:33 left before halftime, tying the game at 4-4 heading into the break.
Foote made it 5-4, before two Brown goals pushed the advantage to 7-4.
Joey Shallow later scored twice in a row to pull Immaculata back to 8-7, but Foote and Smith answered to restore a three-goal Lion lead.
Shallow had a hat trick, while Cipriano scored twice. Ben Tuscai added a goal and three assists for the Mighty Macs.
Albright is now 4-0 and will head to Virginia to face Ferrum and Randolph next week.
