The Albright College men's tennis team didn't take long to get in the win column under new head coach Jeremy Speicher, winning its first match of the spring 7-2, Thursday at Immaculata.
With the victory, the Lions (1-4) get their first victory of the 2011-12 season and break a 15-match losing streak.
Four individual matches went to a fourth set, with Albright emerging victorious in three of them.
Cain Walter fought to a long 6-4, 6-7 (9-11), 10-6 victory over
T.J. Klinger, while
Ruicong Lui won 2-6, 6-4, 10-7 in the top spot.
Joe Monzo beat
Todd Stokley 4-6, 7-5, 10-7 at fifth singles, while
Mike Callahan (fourth) and Chris Hawkins (sixth) also won their matches.
Albright also took the top two doubles places, with Walter and Lui winning 8-5 in the top spot and
Ian Moore/Callahan grabbing an 8-6 decision at second doubles.
The Lions play next at York on March 23.
