The Albright College Field Hockey team, riding a six game winning streak, fell behind 2-0 early as they lost for the first time in three weeks at Arcadia.
After playing well in non-conference games, the Lady Lions were looking to earn the victory in their first Commonwealth Conference game of the season.
Albright goalie
Marguerite DeLucas (who has played well all season, winning back-to-back Player of the Week awards and setting a school record with her 20th career victory earlier in the week, had a rough day between the pipes, giving up 5 goals for the first time since October 8th of last season.
Jennie Kamel got things started for the Knights, scoring her first of two goals early, to give them a lead they would not relinquish.
Arcadia's
Marilyn Beatty also scored two goals on the day. Her first made it 2-0, with an assist coming from
Lauren Altera.
Altera also had a goal for the Knights.
Albright's
Alexis Trego scored the Lions' only goal, getting an assist from Allison Dombrowski. The goal cut the Arcadia lead back down to one, but the Lions were unable to provide any more offense against Arcadia goalie
Mia DePlato. DePlato came on in relief of starter
Sarah Baumgardner.
Albright leading goal scorers
Alyssa Tourdot and Allison Dombrowski both had shots on goal, but couldn't find the net.
The Lions fall to 6-2 on the year and 0-1 in conference play. They play again on Tuesday September 25 at Richard Stockton before coming home for two.
