Box Score
Despite a late goal by freshman
Meghan Dickinson, the Albright College field hockey team was defeated on the road Tuesday, losing 4-1 at Richard Stockton College.
Dickinson scored with less than three and a half minutes to play, one-timing a pass from junior
Alyssa Tourdot. The goal ensured that the Lions have still not been shut out once this season, after 12 scoreless efforts in 2011.
Senior
Kaitlyn Pietrusewicz nearly scored five minutes before Dickinson's goal, but Stockton's
Jenny Carpenter came up with a big defensive save to keep the score at 4-0.
Stockton broke things open with two goals exactly four minutes apart, late in the first half.
Susie Balidemaj finished both opportunities, off assists from
Rileigh Ruff and
Alicia Leadbeater.
The Lions have now lost two straight and fall to 6-3 on the season. Albright faces a crucial Commonwealth battler with local rival Alvernia on Saturday, 11 a.m. in Shirk Stadium. Live video streaming will be provided of the encounter.
