Box Score
Following a defeat to Eastern University, the Albright College men's soccer team fell once again to DeSales University by a score of 2-1.
Just minutes into the game, the Albright defense failed to clear the ball and DeSales capitalized as
Alex Manzo assisted
Wes Frebel to kick a bullet past
Austin Aldinger.
Albright quickly answered back when
Vitali Zaluha craftily dribbled past the DeSales defense and shot a far-side strike for a goal, his fourth of the season, evening the score.
With 25 minutes left in the first half,
Andrew Sussingham led an Albright attack with a nice crossing attempt to
Tyler Waters, who couldn't control the bouncing pass and fired wide of the net.
DeSales' next scoring chance came off of a corner kick that was headed off the post and then put in, but the goal was called back on a foul inside the six.
Once again Albright saw a huge scoring opportunity as Zaluha led
Chris Bucks inside the eighteen, but he was met and denied by DeSales goalkeeper
Colin Sulpizio, continuing the 1-1 deadlock.
After twenty minutes of scoreless second half soccer, DeSales regained the lead on a
Mikel Lezama goal assisted by
Stevie Castellani.
The 2-1 DeSales lead proved to be just enough to earn the victory as Albright was unable to take advantage of their minimal second half opportunities.
With tonight's loss, the Albright Lions fall to 4-5-1 while the DeSales Bulldogs improve to 6-5 on the season.
The Lions' next chance at making it back to the .500 mark will come Saturday as they travel to Elizabethtown College.
