Misericordia was better at putting shots on target in the second half, as the Albright College field hockey team concluded its season with a 5-2 loss away to the Cougars on Thursday.
The Cougars only held a 9-8 shot advantage in the second half, but put eight of those nine attempts on goal and scored four times to pull away.
All five MU goals came in a 16 minute stretch, starting with
Jennifer O'Neill's tally five minutes before halftime.
Emily Hegner then made it 2-0 less than two minutes after the break, and the Cougars soon piled on three more in a six-minute run.
Freshman
Morgan Raneiri got the Lions on the board in the 49th minute, off an assist from sophomore
Amanda Smith.
Senior
Alyssa Tourdot then scored the final goal, with 7:10 remaining in the contest.
Albright wraps up its 2013 season with a record of 6-13 overall.
The Lions' three seniors- Toudot,
Chelsea Klein, and goalie
Marguerite DeLucas- played their final game for Albright. It was not DeLucas' final collegiate contest however, as she will take part in next month's NFHCA Senior Classic.
