The Albright College men's tennis team was swept 9-0 by Penn State-Harrisburg on Wednesday, in the Lions' final tuneup before the MAC Individual Championships.
Freshman
Matthew Muoio battled
Johnny Xue at first singles, dropping a tough 7-5, 6-4 decision.
Fellow rookie
Ken Richardson also lost a tight 7-5 decision in the opening set at second singles, before being swept by
Ben Leibig in the second set.
Muoio and
Sean Purcell lost 8-1 at first doubles, while Richardson and senior
Ian Moore were beaten 8-2 in the second pairs spot.
Purcell improved late in his singles match but still lost 6-0, 6-4 to
Tyler Miller in the third spot.
The Albright men will compete this weekend in the MAC Individual Championships, which will be held Saturday and Sunday in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
