The Wesley Wolverines ripped off a 40-4 first half run, as the Albright College men's basketball team dropped its season opener 101-51 in Dover, Del.
Kyle Jordan led his team in points (eight), assists (three) and steals (two). No Albright player reached double-figures but 12 different players scored, including freshmen
Sameen Swint,
Josh Marquez and
Trey Thatcher.
Swint made a jumper to give Albright an early 6-5 lead after 2:50 of play. Following a Lion timeout soon after,
Calvert Gantz scored to keep the visitors down 15-8.
A Marquez layup was the only basket Albright could muster over the next 9:47, as the Wolverines outscored the Lions 30-2 over that stretch of time.
Albright scored the final four points of the first half.
Pedro Perez sank a pair of free throws and then came up with a steal at the other end, leading to
Evan Ward's basket with 11 seconds remaining.
David Langan continued his red-hot start to the season with 27 points (on 9-of-9 shooting) and 14 rebounds for Wesley.
