The Albright College men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought match on Tuesday, losing 6-3 to Lancaster Bible at home.
Sophomores
Sean Purcell and
Cain Walter won a tie-breaker at first doubles, 9-8 (7-3).
Walter also won easily in his singles match, taking a 6-1, 6-0 decision in the fourth spot.
Also winning was
Thomas Werner at sixth singles. The sophomore won a grueling third set, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9.
On Senior Day, the Lions' lone departing athlete-
Joe Monzo- dropped a pair of matches. He lost 6-3, 6-2 at fifth singles and was beaten 8-6 at third doubles (with
Terrence Goode).
Purcell lost a tough three-setter at third singles, by a score of 5-7, 6-4, 6-1.
The Lions are 3-11 overall and will conclude their 2012-13 season on Saturday at Messiah.
