After two matches this season, the Albright College men's tennis team owns a pair of close 5-4 victories over Penn State satellite schools.
The Lions improved to 2-0 in 2013-14, beating Penn State-Berks 5-4 across town,
Albright had to come from behind after losing two of three doubles points.
Sean Purcell and
Ian Moore were successful at second pairs, winning 8-4.
The Red and White stormed back by winning four of six singles matches, and taking all four of those points in straight sets.
Moore won at fourth singles, defeating
Jeremy Emami 6-2, 6-1.
Cain Walter (fifth) and
Thomas Werner (sixth) also grabbed crucial points for the Lions.
Freshman
Matthew Muoio defeated
Drew Weinhold 6-1, 6-1 in the first singles slot.
The closest match of the day was at second singles, with Albright's
Ken Richardson dropping a 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 scoreline after taking the opening set. The Lions had already wrapped up the victory by then however.
