Following an important win against Stevenson, the Lions travel to Elizabethtown with both teams coming off big second half comebacks on Wednesday.

Series

Albright holds a 73-53 mark against Elizabethtown in a series that dates back to the 1939-40 season. The two teams have only a pair of conference games remaining, as the Blue Jays will move to the Landmark Conference next year.

Previous Meeting

The Lions concluded their 2012-13 regular season with a 71-61 win at Elizabethtown, after the Blue Jays got to within a point earlier in the second half.

Senior Dave Singleton finished with 20 points and seven rebounds, while Pedro Perez added 18 points and seven boards. Senior Zach Benjamin had 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, and Sam Marrella had seven assists.

The big play for Albright came with 5:23 remaining. Perez's block led to a fast break, with the junior finishing off Reuel Moore's behind-the-back pass with an up-and-under layup for a 60-53 advantage.

Albright College Lions (7-5, 3-2)

The Lions have won four in a row, and got their biggest victory thus far on Wednesday by handing Stevenson its first Commonwealth loss of the season. Albright erased a 13-point second half deficit to win 89-82 over a 9-2 Mustang squad that had not a lost a game by more than a point all season.

Perez was just two assists away from a triple double, and was a major factor in the Albright comeback. The senior guard finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and three steals. Also leading the charge for the Lions was Kyle Jordan, who finished a rebound shy of a double-double with 25 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.

Albright is now tied for third in the Commonwealth Conference at 3-2, while Elizabethtown is one of four teams at 2-3. There is still a lot of basketball left to be played, but this weekend could either give the Lions a bit of separation in the playoff race or throw them right back into the pack.

Elizabethtown College Blue Jays (5-7, 2-3)

Elizabethtown (5-7, 2-3) broke a four-game skid on Wednesday with an 86-84 victory over Lebanon Valley. Down by 15 with 6:34 to play, the Blue Jays closed on a 24-7 run and won the game on an Andrew Wenger steal and layup with two seconds remaining.

The Blue Jays also rallied from a double-digit second half deficit to take Messiah, now #20 in the nation, to overtime, but fell 71-64 in the extra period.

Junior Lee Eckert leads the team in scoring (14.9 ppg) and rebounding (7.3 rpg).
