The Albright College men's swimming team won its 30th consecutive Middle Atlantic Conference dual meet by defeating King's College, 122-68 on Saturday in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
The last time Albright lost to a MAC opponent was at Widener, way back on November 6, 2010.
Albright won every freestyle event and swept three of them.
Mike McBride (22.88),
Richard Edwards (23.13) and
Jake Andryshak (23.72) went 1-2-3 in the 50 free, with Edwards also winning the 100 free in 51.25.
Rick Sutton (1:49.53),
Matthew Rein (1:53.52) and
Rainer Floeter (1:55.51) swept the 200 free, and Sutton (4:58.25),
Ken Richardson (5:13.62) and
Mike Sloboda (5:27.32) did the same in the 500.
Chris Longworth took the 1000 free (11:06.63), ahead of teammate
Michael Capogna (11:13.80).
In the 100 fly,
Ralph Porrazzo was first (54.53) and
Matt Runtas took second (55.15).
Richardson also took the 200 IM, with a time of 2:08.44. Albright swept a 400 IM event that was raced as an exhibition, and were led by
Stephen Thomas (4:31.72), Rein (4:35.90) and
Sam Rosenthal (4:41.74).
Sutton, Andryshak, Porrazzo and McBride took the opening 200 medley relay, in 1:45.18. Swimming exhibition, Porrazzo, Runtas, McBride and
Alex Bauer closed with the best time in the 200 free relay (1:32.79).
Albright improves to 11-0, 9-0 and will conclude its dual meet season next Saturday at home against Susquehanna. Seniors
Dan Cahill, Edwards, Floeter, McBride, Porrazzo, Rosenthal and Thomas will be honored at their final home competition.
