The Albright College women's basketball team hosts Widener on Saturday with a chance to move into a tie for fifth place in the Commonwealth Conference.

Previous Meeting

Albright and Widener met earlier this season at Widener. The Lions fought hard, but lost by a score of 70-56.

Sophomore Kelecia Harris made 9-of-14 field goals and finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds on the night. Junior Jessica Venturelli added nine points and four assists, while classmate Amanda Tiritilli had eight points and three assists.

Albright Lions (10-6, 4-5 Commonwealth)

The Lions beat Lycoming on Wednesday night in overtime by a score of 67-65. Venturelli had a block at the end of regulation that ended up putting the teams into overtime. Kadijah Bishop had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebonds, while Emily O'Donnell added 10 points and seven rebounds.

Widener Pride (10-6, 5-4 Commonwealth)

The Pride recently played Messiah on Thursday night and lost a nailbiter by a score of 59-55.

For the first time in her career, Joanna Persiano led the Pride in points, rebounds and assists. She tied her season-high with 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting and made 3-of-8 three-pointers. Persiano also had five assists and seven rebounds. Jennifer Egee contributed 11 points along with seven rebounds, one block, and one steal.

Head Coaches

Janice Luck is in her 12th season as head coach of the Lady Lions and also serves as the co-director of athletics at Albright College. After winning just 15 games in her first three seasons, Coach Luck took the program all the way to the NCAA tournament for the first time ever in 2007-08.

Alisa Kintner is in her 11th year coaching the Pride with a record of 163-108. In the 2012-13 season, Kintner was named Commonwealth Conference and D3Hoops.com Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year.
