READING, Pa. - The Albright men's basketball team looks for a third consecutive victory in the middle game of its three-game homestand on Saturday, when it welcomes Penn State-Harrisburg to the Bollman Center for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
Albright improved to 2-1 after it captured the battle of the Lions on Wednesday night with a 90-57 victory over Penn State-Berks.The victory, which was the Lions
home opener, was keyed by a 35-3 scoring edge off the bench. Penn State-Harrisburg, out of the Capital Athletic Conference, is 0-3 on the season, following two close losses to open the season at its own tournament. The Nittany Lions also lost to Lebanon Valley by a score of 73-61.
Junior
Evan Ward recorded his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 14 rebounds against Penn State-Berks, and is averaging 11.0 rebounds to go along with 11.7 points a game.
Sophomore
Josh Marquez, who has scored in double figures in each game, is the leading scorer averaging 15.0 points per contest. He has converted 4-of-7 from the three-point line this season and is second on the team averaging 5.3 rebounds per game.
Omari Ringgold has poured in 13.0 points per game and has made a team-leading six three-point shots.
Arick Sodini is the leading scorer for Penn State-Harrisburg at 14.3 points per game, while Tariq Bennet is averaging 12.3 points per contest.
Albright could have an advantage on the boards as it has outrebounded its opponents by nearly nine a game, in contrast Penn State-Harrisburg has been outrebounded by 10.0 per game.
