Elizabethtown Ends Albright's Four-Game Winning Streak

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Junior Kelecia Harris scored 13 points and junior Emily O'Donnell had 10 points and 10 rebounds, but Elizabethtown ended Albright's four-game winning streak with a 63-52 victory over the Lions on Thursday.

Rachel Forjan led four Elizabethtown players in double figures with 14 points, while Emily Martin had 13 points and 14 rebounds. Alyssa Aichele added 13 points and Krissy Pennell had 11 points for the Blue Jays.

Albright, which dropped to 6-3 on the season, shot just 30.6 percent from the floor for the game and committed 22 turnovers.

Harris was 5-of-11 from the floor and 3-of-5 from the free-throw line, while O'Donnell finished the game 3-of-5 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line. The Lions also received six points each from Jane Joyce, Devan Horka and Morgan Harris.

Elizabethtown, which never trailed in the game, jumped out to an 8-0 lead to start the game.

A free throw from O'Donnell with 5:14 to play in the first half cut the Elizabethtown lead to 22-21.

Back-to-back baskets by Martin upped the Elizabethtown lead to 26-21 with 3:48 to play in the opening period.

Two free throws by Morgan Harris and a basket by Horka brought Albright to within 26-25 with 2:49 remaining in the first half.

Elizabethtown closed the first half on a 6-2 run to take a 32-27 lead into the intermission.

Following a layup by Kelecia Harris that trimmed the lead to 34-31, the Blue Jays responded with a 9-0 run that pushed the lead to 43-31 with 14:09 to play in the game.

Albright used a 5-0 run to get to within 45-39 with 10:42 to play, but that would be as close as the Lions would get for the remainder of the contest.

The Lions trailed 57-50 with 1:23 to play, but the Blue Jays reeled off a 6-0 run to extend the lead to 63-50 with 1:07 left in the game.

Albright will conclude play in the Puerto Rico Tournament when it faces Lynchburg on Friday (Dec. 19) at 3 p.m.
