Game One Box Score
Game Two Box Score

The Albright College baseball team suffered a costly series sweep, dropping two at Widener on Saturday.

The Pride ripped off double-digit hits in each of the three weekend games, taking Saturday's decisions 9-3 and 7-1.

In game one, Gabe Santone and Joe Pechulis hit home runs, with Nate Peiffer and Evan High each going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Junior Alex Myers took the loss on the mound after allowing seven earned runs in five innings of work; Julian Cimino threw a perfect inning of relief.

Michael Elfreth went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored to lead Widener. Also contributing at the plate were Sam Christie (2-for-2, 3 runs) and Justin Healey (2-for-4, 2 runs).

Pechulis homered to left, his first career bomb, in the top of the fourth. Santone also homered to left, in the top of the sixth frame.

In the nightcap, Zachary Kiebler was 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Collin Hecker was also 2-for-3.

Albright took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, with Nate Peiffer singling in Kiebler.

Widener opened the game up with four runs in the bottom of the third. Nicholas Enos singled to score both Matt Scherer and Michael Riverso, after Elfreth had scored on an error.

Albright falls to 7-11, 5-8, and faces a must-win doubleheader tomorrow vs. Elizabethtown at Kelchner Field (12 p.m.).
