Purcell and
Cain Walter combined for an 8-6 victory at second doubles to open the match.
Albright trailed 2-1 heading into singles play after freshmen
Matthew Muoio and
Ken Richardson (at first doubles), and the pairing of
Ian Moore/
Thomas Werner (at third doubles) both lost 8-1.
Purcell won a tiebreaker in the second set to clinch his fourth singles match vs.
Ben Daubenspeck 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).
Alvernia would take the other five singles points in straight sets.
The Lion men are 3-3, 0-1, and will play three home matches in the next five days- vs. Rosemont (tomorrow), Messiah (Saturday) and Lycoming (Monday).
