Box ScoreAfter winning a crucial series against crosstown rival Alvernia University, the Albright Lions baseball team played to an 11-11 tie against Delaware Valley College, in a back and forth ballgame that had to be called due to darkness.
Following two scoreless innings Delaware Valley drew first blood, scoring two runs off three hits, two of which came off of a
Corey White single.
The Lions answered back in the bottom half of the inning as senior
Nate Peiffer drilled his first home run of the year, knocking in
Daniel Louviaux who had walked to start the inning.
Each team scored one run in the fourth inning, evening up the ballgame at 3-3. For the Aggies,
Pete O'Hara hit an RBI single and for the Lions,

The game's pattern continued as both teams matched run totals in the fifth inning, tying the game at 4-4. For the Lions, junior catcher

Collin Hecker.
Once again, Delaware Valley scored one run in the top half of the sixth inning and Albright followed suit.

In the top half of the seventh,

Aaron Forker to give his squad the 7-5 lead.
Delaware Valley's lead did not last long as the Lions cashed in on four runs off four hits.
Julian Cimino doubled in Peiffer, who singled to start the inning, and eventually scored on an error by the Aggies. High and
Joe Pechulis each had RBI singles later in the inning to give Albright the 9-7 lead.
Continuing the back and forth nature of the game, the Aggies regained the lead in the eighth inning, knocking in four runs off of three hits, taking a 11-9 lead heading into the final inning.
With one out, the Lions rallied to score two runs and tie the game, which was eventually ended by the umpires due to darkness. Both teams put together valiant offensive efforts that made for an exciting see-saw battle that sadly was unable to be completed.
Albright's offensive explosion was led by Pieffer, Boll, Dundore and High, who combined for nine hits and seven RBIs on the day.
With today's tie, the Lions move to 10-14-1 on the season and will face Valley Forge Christian College tomorrow at 4 p.m. on Kelchner Field.
