Box ScoreAfter yesterday's 11-11 tie against Delaware Valley College, the Albright Lions baseball team's bats stayed hot as they shut out Valley Forge Christian College by a score of 17-0 today.
At the plate, Albright totaled twenty hits on the day and received strong pitching performances from
Dylan Price,
Brian Kurtz,
Seth Heffner, Phil Angelastro, and Will Nicoletto who earned the win.
Senior leftfielder
Peter DeFrancisci led the Lions in hits today, accounting for four base-knocks and an RBI. First baseman
Trey Hook made the most of his two hits, totaling five RBI's for the Lions. Nate Fretz,
Julian Cimino,
Evan High, Pat Makowski, and
Austin Stern all had multi-hit days at the plate.
Albright's winning pitcher Nicoletto threw three scoreless innings allowing only one hit. In just two innings of work, Price struck out six Valley Forge batters, while Kurtz, Heffner, and Angelastro preserved the shutout for the Lions.
Along with strong performances at the plate and on the mound Albright played sound defense, failing to make a single error.
Following today's victory, the Lions improve to 11-14-1 on the season and will next travel to Stevenson University for the first part of a three game series starting on Friday.
