Trailing 5-4 with under three minutes before the break, sophomore
Amanda Smith led Albright to a surprise halftime lead. She picked up the rebound after
Rebecca Sartorio was saved, and scored with 2:22 on the clock to tie the game at 5-all.
Wilson won the draw and Smith scored again in the final minute of the period to take the lead. She controlled the ensuing draw, earned a free position chance, and struck five seconds before halftime for a 7-5 advantage.
Smith finished with team-highs in goals (four), ground balls (three), draw controls (eight) and caused turnovers (two). Sartorio scored twice, with
Erin Farrell and Marian Cullen adding one each.
LVC held Albright to just one goal in the second half, tying it up on
Mel Modrick's tally with 25:53 remaining and going ahead for good on
Sam Boyce's goal a minute-and-a-half later.
Cullen's free position canceled out Modrick's opening goal, and Smith made it 2-2 with 21:37 left in the first half.
Albright took its first lead, 3-2, as
Tori Meyer assisted Sartorio with 20:34 on the clock. Sartorio later struck again to tie the contest at 4-4 with 10:51 remaining.
Boyce finished with six goals for the Dutchmen, while
Bailey Benz totaled seven points on two goals and five assists.
Albright (5-9, 0-4) will play its final three games of the season at home, beginning with Lycoming on April 17. LVC (11-2, 5-0) remains in first place in the Commonwealth.
