READING, Pa. -- The Albright College men's soccer team saw its two-match winning streak come to an end at the hands of Ursinus as the Bears topped the Lions 3-0 on Tuesday in non-conference play at Shirk Stadium.
Ryan Butler and Dean DerSimonian each had a goal and an assist to lead Ursinus to the 3-0 victory.
Albright, which had defeated Cabrini and Mount Aloysius in its previous two matches, could muster only nine shots total and three shots on goal.
Aaron Nelson put Ursinus on top 1-0 when he scored near post on an assist from Butler at the 28:18 mark of the first half.
The Bears then added two goals in the second half to pull away from Albright. DerSimonian scored at 60:55 to increase the lead to 2-0 and Butler added a goal at 75:15 for the final tally of the match.
Shawn Murphy had two shots to lead Albright, while
Peter Bockarie,
Steve Bien-Aime,
Austin Phillips,
Vitali Zaluha,
Dan Scofield,
Lawrence Pierre and
Anthony Daub each had one shot for the Lions.
Albright begins a stretch of four consecutive road matches on Saturday when it visits Eastern at 1 p.m.
