READING, Pa. -- Freshman Nathan Hughes scored his first career goal in an Albright uniform leading the Lions to a 1-1 tie with Immaculata on Wednesday night at Shirk Stadium.

Hughes, playing in just his second collegiate match, found the back of the net at 27:49 of the first half staking the Lions to an early 1-0 lead.

Albright, which moved to 1-0-1 on the season, outshot Immaculata 20-11 for the match and controlled much of the play.

The Mighty Macs got the equalizer when Stephen Smith scored off an assist from Will Carr at the 51:29 mark of the second half.

It marked the first goal that Albright keeper Austin Aldinger has surrendered in 200 minutes of action.

Albright had several chances at the end of regulation play off of corner kicks but could not beat Immaculata goalie Michael Thompson. The two teams then played two scoreless extra sessions to settle for the tie.
