Phillips, Aldinger Lead Albright Past Wilkes 1-0

READING, Pa. -- Austin Phillips scored a goal and Austin Aldinger recorded a shutout leading the Albright College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Wilkes University on Saturday at Shirk Stadium.

Phillips scored his second goal of the year at the 3:21 mark of the first half off a pass from Vitali Zaluha giving the Lions an early 1-0 lead.

Aldinger made the goal stand up as he turned away 10 shots and made four saves on the afternoon. It marked his second shutout of the season and he has allowed only one goal in Albright's three matches this season.

Albright, which outshot Wilkes 12-10, remained undefeated on the season and improved to 2-0-1. Wilkes dropped to 1-3 overall following the loss.

The Lions return to action on Sunday (Sept. 7) as it hosts Johns Hopkins at 12 p.m. in Shirk Stadium.
