Late Rally Sends Albright Field Hockey to Loss

GALLOWAY, N.J. -- Amanda Smith and Jessie Leonardis each scored goals for Albright, but Richard Stockton overcame a 2-1 deficit with a second-half charge that resulted in the Ospreys defeating the Lions field hockey team 3-2 on Tuesday.

It was a painful defeat for Albright as the Lions fashioned one of their stronger performances of the season.

Leonardis gave the Lions an early 1-0 lead when she stick handled to the circle and scored at the 4:08 mark of the first half. It marked the first goal of the season for Leonardis.

A goal by Samantha Barcia tied the score 1-1 at the 22:15 mark of the first half, which sent the game to halftime deadlocked.

Smith put the Lions back in front when she scored her first goal of the season at the 38:01 mark of the second half.

Barcia, who scored three goals on the evening, then scored back-to-back goals to put Richard Stockton in front to stay. Her game-winning goal came at the 61:43 mark of the second half.

With the win, Richard Stockton improved to 3-1 on the season while Albright dropped to 0-4 overall.

The Lions return to action on Thursday when it hosts Scranton at 7 p.m. in Shirk Stadium.
