READING, Pa. – The Albright men's soccer program fell to Lebanon Valley 2-0 Saturday evening from Shirk Stadium in MAC Commonweal play.
Lebanon Valley used two goals in the second stanza to get past the Lions.
With the loss, Albright drops to 1-12-1 on the young season and are 0-4 in conference play.
Austin Aldinger made a total of seven saves in the match while playing in 90 minutes between the pipes.
Seven minutes into the opening frame, Albright had four shots and one corner kick to get the offensive shooting parade going.
Steve Bien-Aime mustered two of those in the time span.
At the 10 minute mark, Lebanon Valley responded with two of their shots, one sent high and the other blocked.
For the first 45 minutes of play under cold conditions the teams exchanged several key offensive chances. Lebanon Valley claimed an 11-9 edge in shots as the Lions garnered three corner kicks to their opponent's one.
The Dutchmen's Alex Detweiler broke the scoreless game to give Lebanon Valley a 1-0 lead as his shot from the right side of the turf landed into the back of the net past Aldinger at 51
st minute.
Lebanon Valley's offense continued to play strong as the team answered with a quick goal two minutes after Detweiler's tally by Josh McHale.
For the rest of the second period, the Dutchmen had a solid performance and gave the Lions few opportunities to get anything going. Cam Avery earned his sixth win of the season while posting six saves in the process as Lebanon Valley improved to 5-8 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
Bien-Aime powered the Lions offense with five total shots in the match, two in the second frame.
