Albright Drops Florida Finale to St. Mary's 7-3

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Dylan Boll drove in two runs and Nathan Fretz had two hits, but Albright lost to St. Mary's (Md.) 7-3 in the Lions final game of their Florida trip on Wednesday at the Lawnwood Complex.

Boll was 1-for-3 with two RBI, while Fretz was 2-for-4 and drove in a run to pace the Albright offense. Julian Cimino also went 2-for-4 for Albright.

William Nicoletto allowed three earned runs in 4.0 innings in his start for Albright. Aaron Forker permitted one run in 2.2 innings of relief and struck out two batters.

St. Mary's trailed 3-2, but rallied to score the final five runs of the game to overtake the Lions.

St. Mary's, which had 13 hits on the afternoon, was led by Brad Dioguardo who went 3-for-5 with two RBI. Hunter Mohler was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in, while Paul Roemer. Kared Ealer and Matt Holdefer each had two hits.

A.J. Norby and Matt Wolanin combined to limit Albright to just five hits.

Albright jumped out to an early lead against the Seahawks.

Fretz led off the first inning with a single and then stole second and third base. He scored when Boll lifted a sacrifice fly to center giving Albright an early 1-0 lead.

St. Mary's countered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-1 lead.

Albright answered with two runs in the top of the third inning to regain the lead at 3-2.

Brandon Triantos led off the inning with a walk and stole second base to move into scoring position. Fretz delivered an RBI double to tie the game at 2-2.

Fretz moved to third base on a passed ball and put the Lions back in front at 3-2 when he scored on an RBI groundout by Boll.

St. Mary's regained the lead at 4-3 by scoring two times in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Seahawks then added single runs in the fifth, sixth and eighth innings.

Albright dropped to 3-4 on the season with the loss and returns home to face Lebanon Valley in a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
