OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Albright senior
T.J. Holston scored three goals and added an assist, but seventh-ranked Stevenson jumped out to a 6-0 lead on its way to an 18-7 Commonwealth Conference victory over the Lions on Saturday at Mustang Stadium.
Albright also got goals from
James Egleston,
Mike Southwick,
Philip Potter and
Matthew Lomady. Egleston and
Ryan Turner added assists for the Lions.
Stevenson was led by Billy Burgoyne who had a game-high four goals, while Stephen Banick had five points on three goals and two assists.
Stevenson raised its record to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the Commonwealth, while Albright had its five-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 6-2 on the season and 1-1 in league play.
Six different Stevenson players scored as the Mustangs jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first period.
Egleston got the Lions on the board at the 13:49 mark of the second period to cut the lead to 6-1.
The Mustangs answered with two straight goals to increase the lead to 8-1 with 10:19 to play before halftime.
The Lions got back-to-back goals from Potter and Lomady to climb to within 8-3 at the 3:25 mark of the second period, but the Mustangs scored four goals in the final 1:23 of the half to take a 12-3 lead at the intermission.
Holston scored all three of his goals in the second half for Albright.
Albright returns to action on Wednesday (April 1) when it hosts Arcadia at 7 p.m. at John Gurski Stadium.
