Lions Drop Non-Conference Game to Susquehanna

READING, Pa. – Zachary Kiebler, Evan High and William Klinger all picked up base hits for Albright, but Bryan Palsi homered and drove in two runs and four pitchers combined on a shutout leading Susquehanna to a 9-0 non-conference victory over Albright on Tuesday at Kelchner Field.

Palsi was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI, and Nick Kennedy and Taylor Luckenbill also drove in two runs for the Crusaders.

Jonny Vizcaino went 5.0 innings and allowed just two hits and struck out nine batters to earn the victory. Cole Luzins, Travis Elswerth and Liam Conboy combined to finish the shutout in relief.

Kiebler, High and Klinger each went 1-for-2 to lead the Albright offense. Doug Franks worked two innings in relief for the Lions and allowed two hits and one unearned run while striking out two.

Susquehanna took an early 3-0 lead in the second inning highlighted by a two-run single by Luckenbill.

The Crusaders added a run in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth inning on the two-run homer by Palsi.

Susquehanna stretched the lead to 7-0 with a run in the sixth inning and tacked on two runs in the ninth inning.

Albright, which saw its three-game winning streak against Susquehanna come to a halt, dropped to 11-11-1 overall on the season.

Susquehanna improved to 14-12 on the season with the victory.

Albright returns to action on Friday (April 17) when it host Alvernia in a Commonwealth Conference game at 3:30 p.m. at Kelchner Field.
