READING, Pa. – Terrence Goode dropped a third-set tiebreaker at No. 6 singles and Alvernia edged Albright 5-4 in Commonwealth Conference action on Tuesday at the Albright Tennis Courts.

Goode, who faced Antonio Gaetani, dropped the first set 6-3, but rebounded to win the second set 6-4. Trailing 5-3, Goode rallied to force a tiebreaker but Gaetani prevailed 7-2 in the tiebreaker to clinch the win for the Crusaders.

Matthew Muoio and Evan Cuff each notched a pair of victories for Albright.

Muoio defeated Dan Minnich by walkover at No. 1 singles, while Cuff beat Ben Daubenspeck 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) at No. 3 singles. The duo also paired to beat Minnich and Aaron Yuros 9-8 (7-2) at No. 1 doubles.

Ken Richardson and Sean Purcell also posted a doubles victory for Albright as they defeated Daubenspeck and Kyle Clark 8-5 at No. 2 doubles.

Albright dropped to 8-7 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while Alvernia improved to 6-6 on the season and 3-2 in conference play.
