Philip Potter Ties School Record With Nine Points in Win Versus Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Senior Philip Potter tied the Albright school record with nine points leading the Lions to an 18-6 Commonwealth Conference victory over Lebanon Valley on Tuesday at Arnold Field.

Philip Potter tied the school record of nine points set by T.J. Holston against Richard Stockton on March 20, 2013 by tallying four goals and finishing with a school-record tying five assists.

Led by Philip Potter and Holston, Albright jumped out to a huge advantage over the Dutchmen.

Holston opened the game with back-to-back goals giving Albright a 2-0 lead with 12:14 to play in the first period.

The Potter brothers then scored the next three goals, including two from Philip, to increase the lead to 5-0 with 13:18 to play in the second period.

Ryan Turner got into the act by scoring off a feed from Philip Potter to push the Albright lead to 6-0 with 7:19 left in the second.

James Egleston and Cam Cetrone added back-to-back unassisted goals to increase the Lions lead to 8-0 with 3:50 left before the intermission.

Holston then capped the outburst with an unassisted goal with 2:30 left in the second period giving Albright a 9-0 advantage.

Lebanon Valley finally got on the scoreboard with seven seconds left before halftime when Matt Lubawski scored to cut the lead to 9-1 at the break.

Albright continued its domination in the third period as it outscored Lebanon Valley 8-2 to extend the cushion to 17-3 after three periods.

Albright won 18-of-26 faceoffs on the night and also owned a 43-29 advantage in ground balls.

Albright, which improved to 12-3 overall and 5-2 in the Commonwealth, also received three goals from Turner and two goals from Cetrone and Ray Shalvoy. Derek Stump, Andrew Potter, Egleston and Darian Meador each added a goal for the Lions.

Nicholas Pisko played 45 minutes in goal for the Lions and picked up the victory after turning aside four shots. Ryan Aler and Thomas Mitchell also spent time in goal for Albright.

Albright, which has clinched a berth in the Commonwealth Tournament, is now battling for postseason positioning. The Lions are currently tied with Messiah and Widener with 5-2 records in the conference. Stevenson has locked up the top seed and will host the winner of the No. 4 vs. No. 5 seed game, while the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds will face each other.

Albright will conclude its regular season on Saturday (April 25) when it hosts Hood at 2 p.m. at Exeter High School.
