READING, Pa. – Despite a dominant second period, and controlling the pace of play throughout the match, the Albright men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to DeSales on Wednesday night in non-conference play in Shirk Stadium.
The Lions outshot DeSales 17-8, which included a 12-3 advantange in the second period, but could not beat DeSales keeper Dan Sulpizo.
Trailing 2-0 at the intermission, the Lions began the second period with a strong offensive push.
On a cross into the box at the 50:44 mark, a header by
Austin Phillips beat the keeper but hit the crossbar.

The Lions, who dropped to 1-7-1 on the season, continued the offensive thrust. Off a loose ball in the 78th minute,
Lawrence Pierre fired a shot that was saved by Sulpizio, but
Anthony Daub collected the rebound and lifted the ball past the keeper only to have the shot cleared away on the goal line by DeSales Michael Bamundo.
Albright's last good scoring opportunity came with 5:02 to play when Bockarie ripped a shot on goal that Sulpizo made a diving stop on to keep the Lions off the board.
DeSales, which raised its record to 5-5 overall on the season, received goals from Zach Reichard and Michael Kirby. Reichard scored at the 20:07 mark of the first period and Kirby scored at the 24:08 mark of the first.
