READING, Pa. – The Albright field hockey program looks to get back on track in 2015 as nine starters and 18 letterwinners return for fourth-year head coach

Last season the Lions posted a 2-18 overall record and a 2-5 mark in the Commonwealth Conference. Albright's two victories came against Widener and Hood on its home turf at Shirk Stadium.
Senior
Amanda Smith, who earned Second Team All-Commonwealth Conference honors last season, returns to lead the team in 2015. She led the team in goals, assists, points, shots and shots on goal last season and finished the year with four goals, four assists and 12 points while starting in all 20 games.
Seven seniors, including Smith, return for the 2015 season giving the Lions plenty of experience.
Jessie Leonardis,
Mackenzie Faight,
Rachael Jones,
Sam Chichearo,
Lynn Risley and
Colleen Cahill are back for their final seasons wearing an Albright uniform.
Leonardis joins Smith as a top offensive threat for the Lions. She was tied for second on the team with three goals, seven points, and second on the squad with 37 shots.
Faight played in all 20 games in 2014, posted two goals and recorded 14 shots, while Cahill returns as the Lions top defender.
Juniors
Kendra Delgado and
Zoe Jacobs will also return to contend for a starting position. Delgado played in 19 games in 2014 while registering three goals and one assist to finish with seven points. Jacobs played nine games on defense for the Lions.
Sophomore midfielder
Amanda Long looks to make a positive contribution once again as she played and started in all 20 games on the field in 2014. She completed her rookie campaign with four points on two goals.
Five freshmen join the Lions in 2015 including
Alicia Moore,
Julia Pevarnik and
Aileen Taylor will be competing for the starting goalie position.
Albright opens the 2015 season on the road at the Connie Harnum Classic hosted by Susquehanna on Sept. 5-6. The Lions face Kean in the season opener on Saturday (Sept. 5) at 2:30 p.m.
The Lions open the home portion of their schedule on Sept. 9 when they welcome DeSales to Shirk Stadium for a 4 p.m. contest.
