Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Tops Stevenson, 3-2

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Albright field hockey team never trailed as it defeated Stevenson, 3-2, Saturday night. Kaley Donmoyer scored two goals for the Lions, including the game-winner.

Donmoyer broke a 1-1 tie with just five seconds left in the first half with her first goal of the game after a steal. That broke a 1-1 tie after Stevenson's answer to a goal by Tracy Snyder in the ninth minute of action. Snyder scored on a deflection on a shot from the outside for her seventh tally of the season.

Donmoyer's goal sent the Lions into the intermission with a 2-1 lead, but it was short-lived. Just over three minutes into action in the second half, Stevenson's Rosemarie Neiva tied the match at 2-2 with an assist from Alexis Young.

Donmoyer had the answer for Albright, however, scoring in the 48th minute to give the Lions a 3-2 advantage on a cross in front of the goal. At that point, the Albright defense tightened as it allowed just one wide shot by Stevenson in the final 22-plus minutes after Donmoyer's second goal.

Albright outshot Stevenson, 10-9, and led 5-3 in shots on goal. Snyder led the Lions with three shots.

Albright returns to action at home against Scranton on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
