READING, Pa. – The Albright field hockey team used a dominating offensive performance to shut out Hood, 5-0, on Saturday night.
Kaley Donmoyer had three goals for the Lions.
Donmoyer led an offensive attack for Albright that overwhelmed Hood from the opening whistle. The Lions outshot the Blazer, 38-0, including a 26-0 advantage in shots on goal. Donmoyer led that charge with 10 shots, nine of which were on net.
She got the offense started with a goal 15 minutes in as the Lions peppered Hood keeper Hailey Poisal with shots. Donmoyer had the third shot of that sequence and beat Poisal on an assist from
Amanda Long. Donmoyer struck again in the 32
nd minute on a feed by
Annette Helmandollar to make it 2-0.
Tracy Snyder came back less than two minutes later off a penalty corner pass from
Kendra Delgado to make it 3-0 Lions into the intermission. Snyder had nine shots, including five on goal. Snyder also added an assist to her night on Donmoyer's third goal of the game, a point blank shot from just in front of Poisal.
Cassidy Barrow rounded out the scoring with a slapper in the 50
th minute.
Marley Berger had seven shots for Albright, including four on goal.
Albright begins a three-game road trip Monday at Keystone at 4 p.m.
