READING, Pa. – The Albright men's soccer team played evenly with Lycoming for two-thirds of the match on Wednesday night. But the Warriors scored four unanswered goals in the second half to win, 5-1.
The match was scoreless through the first 45 minutes, thanks in large part to goalkeeper
Billy Mullen. He made eight saves in the first half as Lycoming registered 17 total shots. Lycoming also had six corner kicks to Albright's one. But through all that, the game remained scoreless into the intermission.
In the second half, the teams traded goals less than two minutes apart. After Lycoming took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Daniel Anwanwan, Albright's
Anthony Parlato tied the score after controlling a loose ball inside the box and ripping it past Josh Gildea in the 60
th minute to tie the score at 1-1.
That tie score didn't last long, however, as Lycoming took a 2-1 lead on a Jordan Logan header in the 62
nd minute. Lycoming added three more goals in the final 20 minutes of action to round out the scoring.
Nathan Hughes led the Lions with two shots. Mullen finished the contest with nine saves.
