READING, Pa. – The Albright women's soccer team scored early and often in beating Neumann, 6-0, Saturday afternoon in the first round of the ECAC Tournament.
Crissy Terraces and
Dylan Shipe each scored twice for the Lions.
Terraces opened the scoring in the 7
th minute when she was originally stopped on a breakaway and recovered the rebound to make it 1-0. Shipe doubled the lead to 2-0 in the 22
nd minute when she also recovered a rebound and scored. Just three minutes later,
Megan O'Brien scored off a nice cross from Shipe to push the advantage to 3-0 just 24 minutes into play. Still not finished in the first half,
Erica Bross headed home a corner kick from
Emily Mollica to make it 4-0 in the 33
rd minute.
Terraces and Shipe each got their second goals in the second half. Terraces corralled a shot off the post by
Emily Sousa and scored to make it 5-0 in the 50
th minute. Shipe rounded out the scoring when she accepted a pass from Terraces on the right side to beat the keeper in the 55
th minute.
Albright outshot Neumann, 27-2, and held a 16-0 advantage in shots on goal.
Albright returns to action at home Sunday night against Kean in the second round of the ECAC Tournament. The match begins at 6:30 p.m.
