Lions Drop Doubleheader to Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. -- Jesse Fikslin had two hits and drove in three runs and Julian Cimino and Noah Beebe had three hits, but Albright dropped both ends of a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader to Lebanon Valley on Friday at McGill Field.

Lebanon Valley beat the Lions 6-5 in nine innings in game one and then won game two by a 10-2 score.

Fikslin was 2-for-4 with two doubles and drove in three runs in game one and led a Lions comeback.

Albright, which dropped to 3-12 on the season and 0-6 in conference play, trailed 5-1 entering the top of the sixth inning of game one.

With one out, Micah Storms began the Lions comeback with a single. He advanced to second base on a wild pitch and moved to third when Noah Beebe singled to center.

The Lions loaded the bases when Cimino was hit by a pitch and cut the lead to 5-2 when Zach Krause singled to left to bring home Storms.

With two outs, Fikslin then lined a double to right centerfield that brought home Beebe, Cimino and pinch runner Kyle Gantert to tie the score at 5-5.

The game went into extra innings and the Dutchmen plated an unearned run in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure the 6-5 victory.

Cimino was 2-for-2 for Albright and scored two runs, while Jeff Yordy, Storms, Beebe, Krause and Logan Steidinger all recorded base hits.

Dylan Price worked two scoreless innings in relief for the Lions, while Daron Pijanowski allowed no runs in 1.2 innings and Trey Eberly went one inning without a run.

Lebanon Valley, which improved to 9-10 overall and 3-3 in the MAC Commonwealth, took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game two.

Albright responded with a run in the top of the third inning.

With one down, Yordy advanced to second on an LVC fielding error. He moved to third base on a fly out and came home to score on a wild pitch to tie the game at 1-1.

The Dutchmen responded with five runs in the bottom of the third inning to increase the lead to 6-1.

Albright cut into the lead in the top of the fourth inning when Bryan Brubaker hit an RBI single to score Cimino.

Lebanon Valley answered with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and single runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Brubaker, Beebe and Joe Suppa each recorded two hits in game two for Albright, while Yordy, Pijanowski, Cimino and Brandon Triantos each had a hit.

Albright will return to action on Tuesday (March 29) when it hosts Immaculata in a non-conference game at 4 p.m. at Kelchner Field.
