READING, Pa. -- Justin Dempsey drove in three runs and eight different pitchers combined to limit Albright to four hits as Immaculata defeated the Lions 8-0 in non-conference play on Tuesday at Kelchner Field.
Bryan Brubaker had a pair of hits for Albright, while
Julian Cimino and
Jesse Fikslin each had a base hit.
Dylan Price started for Albright and worked 3.2 innings allowing four hits and one earned run.
Daron Pijanowski worked 1.1 innings of scoreless relief, while
Trevor Mastria worked a scorelss eighth inning for the Lions.
Dempsey finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead the Mighty Macs, while Ryan Ficca was 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI.
Immaculata, which improved to 13-7 on the season, took a 1-0 lead after the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Ficca.
The Mighty Macs stretched the lead to 3-0 in the top of the fourth inning when Dempsey hit a two-run single.
Immaculata tacked on two runs in the sixth and seventh innings and also tallied a run in the eighth inning.
Albright, which dropped to 3-13 on the season, loaded the bases in the bottom of the eighth inning but were unable to push across a run.
The game was halted due to darkness in the top of the ninth inning with the Mighty Macs batting.
Albright returns to action on Friday (April 1) at 3:30 p.m. in a MAC Commonwealth game at Kelchner Field.
