WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Junior
Cam Cetrone scored five goals and added an assist and Albright used a fast start and a dominant second half to defeat Lycoming 15-7 on Saturday in a MAC Commonwealth game at the Shangraw Complex.
Cetrone upped his team-leading goal total to 45 with his five goals on Saturday to pace a balanced Albright attack. It marked the fifth time this season that Cetrone has recorded at least five goals in a game.
Tyler Strayline continued his hot streak as he netted three goals, while
Nate Rhoads,
Andrew Potter and
Nick Tonno each scored two goals for the Lions,
Ethan Howell also had a goal for Albright.
Derek Stump, who leads the conference in assists, added four more to his total on Saturday. Rhoads had two assists and Cetrone,
James Egleston,
Kenny Pastore, Potter and
Matt Wighard also had helpers for Albright.
Ryan Aler made a season-high 17 saves in goal for Albright and improved to 6-8 on the season with the win.
Albright jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter and then outscored the Warriors 10-5 in the third and fourth quarters.
Albright improved to 6-8 overall and 5-2 in the MAC Commonwealth, while Lycoming dropped to 3-11 on the season and 2-5 in league play.
Cetrone got the Lions started in the first quarter as he scored an unassisted goal just 53 seconds into the game for a 1-0 lead.
Rhoads then scored back-to-back goals to increase the lead to 3-0 and Strayline capped the first quarter with a goal off a feed from Stump to push the lead to 4-0.
Cetrone opened the third quarter with a goal off a Stump pass to increase the margin to 6-2, but Sean Reilly answered for Lycoming to cut the lead to 6-3.
Albright then ripped off a 4-0 run, which featured a pair of goals from Potter, to push the lead to 10-3 after three quarters.
Albright then closed the game by outscoring the Warriors 5-4 in the final quarter.
The Lions, who have secured their spot in the upcoming MAC Commonwealth Tournament, will wrap up the regular season by hosting Lebanon Valley on Tuesday (April 26) at 7 p.m. in Shirk Stadium.
