READING, Pa. --
Tyler Strayline and
James Egleston each scored two goals, but Lebanon Valley rallied to defeat Albright 9-8 in a MAC Commonwealth game on Tuesday at Shirk Stadium.
Derek Stump gave the Lions a 7-5 lead with 11:56 to play in the fourth quarter with an unassisted goal, but Lebanon Valley went on a 4-0 run to take a 9-7 lead with 1:51 to play in the contest.
Nick Tonno scored off a feed from
Andrew Potter to bring the Lions to within 9-8 with 1:21 left in the game, but the Lions would not get the equalizer.
Albright concludes the regular season with a 6-9 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the MAC Commonwealth. The Lions, who have already secured a spot in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament, will now await the results of this weekend's conference play to find out where they will be seeded.
Potter and
Cam Cetrone also had goals for Albright, while Potter had two assists and Cetrone and
Jordan Zehr each had one assist.
Koty Keefer and Brett Kudlak each scored three goals to lead Lebanon Valley, while Klayton Garman, Jacques Mercer and Matt Torrence also had goals for the Dutchmen.
Both goalies played well as Camerone Epple notched 12 saves to earn the win, while
Ryan Aler kicked aside 16 shots for Albright.
After Mercer gave LVC a 1-0 lead at the 13:58 mark of the first, Strayline scored back-to-back goals giving Albright a 2-1 lead with 8:34 to play in the opening quarter.
Kudlak and Garman closed the quarter with goals for Lebanon Valley that gave the Dutchmen a 3-2 lead after one quarter.
Keefer scored an unassisted goal giving LVC a 4-2 lead at the 13:50 mark of the second, but Potter answered for the Lions to cut the lead to 4-3 at the intermission.
Egleston tied the game at 4-4 with an unassisted goal at the 13:51 mark of the third, and Cetrone put Albright ahead 5-4 at the 7:17 mark of the third.
Egleston scored off a beautiful feed from Cetrone to increase the Lions lead to 6-4 with 2:33 to play in the third quarter.
Kudlak scored off a pass from Keefer to trim the Albright lead to 6-5 with 14:25 to play, but Stump pushed the lead back to two with his goal at the 11:56 mark.
Lebanon Valley, which improved to 10-5 overall and 5-2 in conference play, then reeled off its game-changing run to secure the victory.
