ANNVILLE, Pa. --
Andrew Potter and
Cam Cetrone each scored three goals and Albright outscored Lebanon Valley 5-1 in the second half on its way to a 7-4 over the Dutchmen in an opening round game of the MAC Commonwealth Tournament on Monday at Arnold Field.
Potter and Cetrone combined to score four of the five goals scored by the Lions in the third and fourth quarters to spark the Albright comeback.
Albright, which improved to 7-9 on the season, advances to the semifinals of the MAC Commonwealth Tournament where it will meet top-seeded Stevenson on Wednesday (May 4) at a time to be announced.
Lebanon Valley, which dropped to 10-7 on the season with the loss, jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one quarter of play on a pair of goals from Alex Bushong.
The Dutchmen upped the lead to 3-0 at the 12:46 mark of the second quarter on a goal from Brett Kudlak.
Potter began the Albright comeback when he scored on a feed from
Ethan Howell to trim the lead to 3-1 with 9:39 to play in the second quarter.
Cetrone then brought Albright to within 3-2 when he scored an unassisted goal at the 7:30 mark of the second quarter.
Albright got the equalizer early in the third quarter when Potter tallied his second goal of the game at the 12:40 mark of the quarter.
Lebanon Valley regained the lead at 4-3 when Kudlak scored his second of the game with 10:49 to play in the quarter.
Tyler Strayline got the Lions even at 4-4 when he took a feed from
Derek Stump and found the back of the net with 5:43 to play in the third.
Cetrone then gave Albright the lead for good when he scored a goal with 14 seconds to play in the third quarter off another pass from Stump.
Potter and Cetrone each added goals in the fourth quarter as the Lions finished off the Dutchmen.
Ryan Aler picked up the win in goal for Albright as he made nine saves, including five in the third and fourth quarters.
