READING, Pa. -- Matthew Muoio extended his MAC Commonwealth singles winning streak to 16 straight with a three-set victory over Tim Dunn, but Messiah edged Albright 5-4 in a conference match on Wednesday at the Albright Tennis Courts.

Muoio, who has won seven straight matches at No. 1 singles, won the first set 6-1, but Dunn rallied to win the second set 6-4 to force a third set. Muoio controlled the final set and posted a 6-2 victory to extend his winning streak. He has not lost a conference match since his freshman season at Albright during the 2013-14 season.

Muoio also paired with Ken Richardson to defeat Dunn and Connor Graybeal 9-8 at No. 1 doubles. The Lion duo prevailed 7-2 in the tie-breaking set.

Albright, which dropped to 2-12-1 overall and 1-4-1 in conference play, also got singles victories from Evan Cuff and Joey Olkusz.

Cuff needed three sets to beat Devin Esch 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Olkusz recorded a straight-set 7-6, 6-1 victory over Caleb Hays at No. 6 singles.

Messiah improved to 10-6 overall and 6-0 in conference play with the win.

Albright will conclude its season on Saturday (April 30) at 1 p.m. when it hosts Lycoming at the Albright Tennis Courts.
