READING, Pa. – The Albright women's volleyball team lost 3-0 to visiting Penn State Altoona Friday night in the Bollman Center. The loss drops Albright to 2-3 on the season.
Albright trailed 20-15 in the opening game of the match before running off six straight points to take a 21-20 lead. The two teams then traded points to make the score 22-21 Albright, but Altoona came up with the final four points to win game one 25-22.
Game two saw Albright jump out to a 6-2 lead, but Altoona quickly pulled even in what would become a back and forth game. Neither team led by more than two after Albright's early lead, and the score was tied at 18 after a kill from Albright senior Maddie Greth. Altoona outscored the Lions 7-3 from that point, however, to take game two 25-20.
The third game was a carbon copy of the first two. Albright rallied from a three-point hole to tie the game at 20-20. The game was still tied at 23 all, but Altoona came up with the last two points to win the game 25-23 and take the match 3-0.
Junior
